Texas cooperatives brace for ice storm
December 5, 2013
A severe ice storm is expected to develop today in north-central and northeastern Texas through Friday night. According to Accuweather.com, “In some locations, the storm has the potential to allow one half an inch or more of ice to accumulate on the ground and accrue on elevated surfaces.”
Texas electric cooperatives in the region are preparing for possible outages from the storm, which is expected to affect an area from Dallas-Ft. Worth northeast through central Arkansas. TEC will provide statewide outage update information as the storm develops.
