Storm recovery update
August 31, 2017
Many co-ops in Texas are making significant progress recovering from the destruction of Hurricane Harvey. Co-op crews have traveled from across the state to offer mutual aid in the hardest hit co-op areas. With the strong recovery effort and decrease in remaining outages many will be returning home soon. We’d like to thank them for their service and dedication and wish them safe travels.
Below is a snapshot based on information received today, 8/31. Total reported storm-related outages for the co-ops in the path of the storm were approximately 125,000. Remaining storm-related outages are now less than 14,000.
NOTE: Just prior to sending out this email, Mark Tamplin with Jasper-Newton EC notified me that Entergy lost several feeder lines resulting in Jasper-Newton losing all power. Sam Houston is also affected. We will have more information tomorrow.
