Greenbelt EC Forms Sourcing Alliance With TEC
October 8, 2017
Greenbelt EC’s board of directors approved the formation of a sourcing alliance with TEC that expands the statewide association’s presence in the Texas Panhandle.
“We are excited about working more closely with Green- belt Electric Cooperative,” said Johnny Andrews, chief operating officer of TEC Manufacturing & Distribution Services. “Their track record for quality service and deliv- ering electric power to Panhandle users is well-known. We are proud to support them in their mission to keep the lights on for their members.”
The alliance supply model is one that can make an immediate difference in a co-op’s bottom line by reducing operational and redundant costs through aggregation and scale. Through large-scale procurement negotiation, TEC sources high-quality products from leading manufacturers and passes those savings along to all member cooperatives.
Greenbelt EC is the fourth cooperative to form a TEC alliance this year, making 21 alliance partners in total.
“We believe in building strong partnerships,” Andrews said. “With each new alliance, TEC’s position in the market to negotiate pricing is strengthened.”
