‘Texas Co-op Power’ Earns High Marks With Readers

October 1, 2025

The average Texas Co-op Power reader spends 36 minutes with an issue of the monthly magazine and has read at least three of the past four issues, and 95% of readers are completely satisfied with TCP.

Those are just some of the findings of a triennial reader survey conducted by MRI-Simmons, a leading provider of consumer profiling and surveying, with direction from TCP staff and American MainStreet Publications, a cooperative organization that coordinates nationwide advertising for TCP and 25 other statewide electric cooperative magazines.

The four-page survey was mailed to 1,000 randomly selected Texas Co-op Power readers earlier this year. The results are used to help inform advertising sales and shape editorial direction for the magazine, which has a print circulation of 1.8 million.

Other key findings of the survey:

  • 99% of respondents say TCP is a brand they can always trust.
  • 86% say TCP helps them form a closer bond with their electric cooperative.
  • 86% say reading TCP makes them feel more favorable about their electric cooperative.
  • 89% say reading TCP gives them confidence that their electric co-op is a trusted energy adviser.
  • 92% say reading TCP keeps them up to date on their cooperative.
