November 16, 2016
To offer full-service electric meter testing and advanced metering infrastructure deployment, Texas Electric Cooperatives recently partnered with Sooner Meter Sales, a utility service organization with more than 20 years of meter installation, testing and sales experience.
“This alliance is just one more way TEC is committed to finding solutions to meet the needs of our customers,” said Johnny Andrews, chief operating officer of TEC’s Manufacturing & Distribution Services.
As part of the alliance, Sooner Meter plans to move its corporate headquarters from Duncan, Oklahoma, to TEC’s Georgetown installation, where it will build a full-service meter testing facility. In addition, Sooner Meter will have field resources based in Georgetown to facilitate AMI deployments and infield meter testing throughout TEC’s alliance regions.
“We feel there are great synergies between the two organizations, and it will allow us to expand our footprint here in Texas to provide key services to TEC’s customers,” said Jeff DeVries, CEO of Sooner Meter. “We look forward to working with the TEC team to develop operational solutions for the utilities here in Texas, with a keen focus on customer service and quality.”
